As students scramble to finish assignments during the busy end-of-the-year schedule where things tend to get out of hand, stress levels are hard to keep down, not to mention the nerve-wracking JRP deadline and college decision releases. The Fourcast gets it, so here are some of our best tips for de-stressing. Winter break is just around the corner, just keep calm and carry on!

Charlotte Dross, Editor-in-Chief

Tip: Use your resources

Why: “I would take advantage of your free periods, and make sure to utilize your in-class work time efficiently”

Paige Halverson, Managing Editor

Tip: Go for a run

Why: “Usually before I start on my homework I go on long runs, I like to enjoy the scenery and in the winter, I like the weather. After the run, I have a warm drink, which helps me to relax.”

Kate Woodhouse, News Editor

Tip: Bake

Why: “I like to stress bake, cookies and brownies. It’s very simple and you don’t have to think about it like homework you just follow the recipes.”

Ava Berger, Staff Writer

Tip: Netflix

Why: “I really like to watch Netflix, especially the office. It’s funny and lighthearted and puts me at ease.”

Sahasra Chigurupati, Castoff Editor

Tip: Cuddle with your pet

Why: “I Like to play with my puppy (his name is Caesar). It takes my mind of all things stressful, and when I do start my homework, I am in a happy mood.”

Niamh Mckinney, Arts and Life Editor

Tip: Stay organized

Why: “Stay organized and use your planner a lot; it helps you stay on top of things”

Ashlye Dullye, Business Manager

Tip: Sleep

“Sleep a lot. Sleeping makes you feel energized also it’s one of my favorite things to do. A lot of times we don’t get enough sleep and don’t realize it.”

Kelsey Chen, Staff Writer

Tip: Manage your time

“Don’t procrastinate. Do things ahead of time so you won’t be rushing to do them last minute. It really reduces your stress, instead of studying for something the night before.”
