Hockaday/St. Marks Drama Program Presents Pride and Prejudice

This past weekend, Hockaday and St. Mark’s Theatre performed Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, under the direction of Rod Blaydes. Junior Natalie undertook the female lead, Elizabeth Bennett, alongside freshman William, who played Mr. Darcy. Though young, the leads wowed audiences with their consistently impressive performances night after night. Seasoned actress and senior, Regen played Jane in the production, acting with poise. Due to the limiting nature of the black box, the set remained fairly simple in order to represent various scenes; this simplicity challenged the actors to connect more deeply with their characters, which all accomplished successfully. In addition, senior Gricelda kept true to the time period through her costume design. Audiences showed the actors with accolades at each production.
