The cosmetics brand Too Faced dropped the Sweet Peach Eyeshadow in a limited edition release back in the spring of 2016, and everyone went absolutely nuts for it. The palette sold out in hours and was almost impossible to find in stores. Believe me, I checked three different Ultas and a Sephora. Me, a makeup fanatic, peach palette-less. I was pretty sad at the thought that I would never be able to get my hands on this palette. Fast forward to December 2016, when the palette was restocked and became part of a permanent collection. My wonderful friends got me the palette for my birthday, and it was love at first smell.
The palette is very versatile. It has a great range of shades, from matte neutrals to peachy shimmers to dark shadows. It’s easy to create an entire look from the palette, you won’t have to reach for any others. In fact, I did my own makeup for Winfo using exclusively this palette. Even if you don’t love bold shades, don’t worry-the pinks and the purples in this palette are a lot more wearable than they might seem at first glance.
The texture and quality of the shadows are great too. Every shade has great pigmentation and blendability, two of the qualities I find most important in an eyeshadow palette. The texture of the shadows is soft, not chalky or powdery like other palettes can be. My personal favorite shades are Luscious, a light gold, Bellini, a rose gold, and Puree, a neutral brown.
However, not everything can be perfect. One thing I wish I could change about the palette is the number of shimmery shades and the colors of those shades. There are a few shades that I would have preferred to see in matte finishes (Caramelized, Cobbler) as opposed to the satin finish they came in. But hey, that’s a personal preference, so if you prefer your shadows with a sheen, I’m sure you’d have no issue with this.
My final rating? 4.6 out of 5 peaches. This palette has become one of my all-time favorites and I couldn’t imagine parting with it. If you’re a fan of sweet smells, great eyeshadow, and want to treat yourself, I highly recommend this palette.
