Lettuce Eat at these Rad(ish) Vegetarian/Vegan Restaurants

Dallas is a meat lover city. BBQ, Mexican beef fajitas, State Fair fried concoctions, fried chicken and more. However, for the vegans and vegetarians out there, romaine calm because this city has great options that you can’t beet.

Be Raw Food & Juice

Located in Preston Center near Carlo’s Bakery and California Pizza Kitchen, Be Raw Food and Juice offers a 100 percent vegan and gluten free menu with items ranging from coconut kale enchiladas and spaghetti and “meat” balls to coconut cream pie. They also offer classes that discusses the plant-based lifestyle and veganism with cooking demonstrations, lectures and movie screenings.

Fri. – Sat. 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Sun. 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Spiral Diner &  Bakery

A personal favorite of mine, this completely vegan & mostly organic diner is a go to place for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Standout dishes on their menu include the Nachos Supremo (tastes just like cheese!), jerk tempeh sandwich, their blueberry pancakes available for Sunday Brunch and the Deathstar I-scream sundae. They also accommodate to gluten-free and soy-free customers with specialized menus. With their two locations in Fort Worth and another near Bishop Arts, this restaurant should be high on your Dallas food crawl bucket list.

Cosmic Cafe

When the “Healthy Living” section of The Huffington Post labels you as “10 of the country’s healthiest restaurants” and The Dallas Observer calls you the “best vegetarian restaurant since inception,” you must feel pretty good in your restaurant making decisions. Cosmic Cafe not only offers vegetarian Indian cuisine but also hosts yoga classes in an eccentric and colorful building. You will be guaranteed an unique restaurant experience that captures the mind, body and soul.

Fri. – Sat. 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.

Sun. 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Loving Hut

With just a five minute drive from Hockaday, the Loving Hut is a great option for a quick, satisfying and affordable lunch with their weekday buffet for just under $10. They have locations all around the nation but two stores in the Dallas Fort Worth area in Addison and Arlington. You will find all your favorite Asian inspired dishes, including fried rice and spicy pad thai, but also traditional American dishes, like hamburgers and BBQ strips.

Sat. 11:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Sun. 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Whether you follow a plant-based diet or not, these four vegetarian and vegan restaurants are ideal options for a mostly healthier meal out. Meat lovers, you must just surprise yourself with this type of food. Vegetarians/vegans, if you haven’t tried out these places, then it’s time you get a little hungry, call over some friends and make a trip down.
